Growing Programs
A community on a mission to provide fresh, local produce for every one of our neighbors.
Neighbor-to-Neighbor Free Food Box
The Neighbor-to-Neighbor program began during the COVID pandemic to provide free weekly produce to seniors and neighbors who were socially isolated.
Since then, we’ve continued the program. During the growing season, we supplement what we grow with produce purchased from local farmers, creating nutritious food boxes for all neighbors in need.
-
46 familes
We were able to provide fresh produce to 46 families during the 2025 growing season.
-
6,048 pounds
We distributed over 3 tons of produce to our neighbors in 2025!
-

We worked with 28 local vendors this year to bring more diversity into our food share program.
Other Programs
Seeds of Harmony
Launched in the Spring of 2006, the Seeds of Harmony Community Garden continues to provide fresh, organic produce to the New Columbia community.
Fruits of Diversity
Planted in 2013 in partnership with the Portland Fruit Tree Project, the Fruits of Diversity Community Orchard is the first public community orchard in the City of Portland. The fruit harvested from this 10,000 square foot orchard goes to community residents who volunteer their time and energy at our monthly work and harvest parties.
